The B&K Precision Service Cost Estimate Tool allows you to estimate calibration, repair, and warranty-related service costs for your instrument. Use it to plan service needs or prepare for an RMA request.
How to Use the Estimate Tool
Step 1: Go to the Estimate Tool
- Navigate to: https://www.bkprecision.com/support/estimate
Step 2: Enter Your Instrument Model
- Use only the base model number (e.g., 880, 879B)
- Avoid using spaces, dashes, or extra characters
Step 3: View Available Your Service Type
- Options include:
- Calibration
- Repair
- Repair with Calibration
- Warranty Service
- Evaluation Only

Step 4: Select a Calibration Option (if applicable)

Service Options
The B&K Precision Service Department offers the following:
Calibration Services
- NIST Traceable Calibration = Calibrated to ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994; includes a Certificate of Calibration (no data).
- NIST Traceable Calibration with Data = Includes a Certificate plus a report with “after” data only.
- NIST Traceable Calibration with Before and After Data = Includes a Certificate and both “before” and “after” data.
Calibration Standards
- B&K Precision complies with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and ISO 9001:2015.
- Not accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and does not issue 17025-compliant certificates.
Warranty Services
- Warranty Repair = Free repair for registered, in-warranty instruments. Includes a Certificate only if repairs or adjustments were made.
- Warranty Repair with Calibration with Data = Includes “after” calibration data and a Certificate.
- Warranty Repair with Before and After Calibration Data = Includes full calibration data and a Certificate.
Non-Warranty Services
- Non-Warranty Repair = Free repair for registered, in-warranty instruments. Includes a Certificate only if repairs or adjustments were made.
- Non-Warranty Repair + NIST Calibration = Includes a Certificate, no data.
- Non-Warranty Repair + Calibration with Data = Includes Certificate and “after” data.
- Non-Warranty Repair + Before and After Calibration Data = Includes full calibration data and a Certificate.
Other Services
- Service Warranty = 90-day coverage for previously repaired issues. No Certificate or report issued.
- Extended Warranty = Adds 2 years of coverage if purchased within 60 days of product purchase. Non-transferable. Not valid for accessories; exclusions apply.
Service Charges & Payment
- Payment Terms = Payment is collected after service is complete and before return shipping. Accepted methods: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx, Check, ACH. Note that Net terms are not accepted.
- Flat Rate Pricing = Estimates include labor and necessary parts.
- Domestic Shipping (U.S.) = Flat-rate return shipping via UPS or FedEx Ground. Charged after service completion.
- International Shipping = Quoted individually upon request. Charged after service completion.
- Evaluation Fee = If service cannot be completed, an evaluation fee may be charged instead of the full-service fee.
Shipping Guidelines
To ensure safe delivery of your instrument to B&K Precision:
- Use the original box or a sturdy cardboard carton.
- Include at least 3 inches of foam padding on all sides.
- Do not use packing peanuts or packing paper.
- Securely seal the box using packing tape or staples.
- Attach a copy of the RMA Packing Slip or clearly label the box with your RMA number.
- Return shipping will use UPS or FedEx Ground unless otherwise specified.
Troubleshooting
Model not recognized?:
- Double-check spelling and format
- Only use the model number (e.g., use 879B, not BK879B)
- Wait up to 5 business days for new product registration in MyBK to be validated
